Holy Rosary Cookie Walk: Holy Rosary Catholic Church, located at 1043 Lake Ave., Detroit Lakes, will host its 28th Annual Cookie Walk from 8 to 10:30 a.m. in the Parish Center. Homemade cookies and candies will be sold by the pound, as well as lefse fresh off the griddle, breakfast rolls warm from the oven, hot coffee and more.

PEO Chapter FG: Detroit Lakes Chapter FG of the Philanthropic Educational Association (PEO) will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Detroit Lakes United Methodist Church. Hostesses are Sue Eidenchinck, Joyce Armstrong and Jane Miller. The program, "Kwanzaa, an American Holiday," will be presented by Carol Ann Dahlberg.

Family Day at the Museum: Families are invited to come paint their own ceramic Christmas ornaments, which will then be professionally glazed and kiln fired to preserve them for future holidays. Christmas Caroling Concert: The Heart O'Lakes Harmony Men's Barbershop Chorus will host a Christmas Carol Concert at 3 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids. The public is invited to come listen to and sing the carols of Christmas as the men of Heart O' Lakes Harmony Barbershop Chorus lead the singing and proclaim the message of Christmas through song, scripture, prayer and reflection. This free concert is one of the ways the men of Heart O' Lakes Harmony give back to their community — though there is no cost to attend, an offering will be received to help support area families in need during the holiday season.

Holiday Concert: The Lake Park-Audubon High School Music Department will present its 2018 Holiday Concert, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," at 1:45 and 7:30 p.m. in the high school theater. The concert will feature the LPAHS Junior and Senior High Choirs as well as the Raider Pop Group. Free admission.

Izaak Walton League: The local Prairie Woods Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America is hosting a gathering with Grant Merritt, former Commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, long-time environmental lawyer, and author of the 2018 book "Iron and Water: My Life Protecting Minnesota's Environment." The public is invited to attend the event at La Barista in the Washington Square Mall, starting with a discussion about the Ikes and conservation in Minnesota with Grant at 6:30 and then a book signing (books will be available for purchase) at 7 p.m.

Christian Women's Club: The Detroit Lakes Christian Women's Club will meet at noon in the Detroit Lakes Holiday Inn on Highway 10 East. Advent Mini-Concert: First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes will host an Advent Mini-Concert, featuring the Fergus Falls-based gospel quartet, aChord. Canadian Pacific Holiday Train: The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will make its annual stop in Detroit Lakes at 2:30 p.m. on Soo Avenue, between Holmes and Front streets. Featured entertainers this year will be The Trews and Willy Porter, who will perform live on the train stage starting at 2:45 p.m. The concert is expected to last approximately half an hour; Santa will be on hand to distribute hot chocolate and accept donations of non perishable food items and cash for the Becker County Food Pantry. Santa's Reindeer at the Mall: The Washington Square Mall in Detroit Lakes will be hosting a visit from Santa's Reindeer, 12-3 p.m. in the mall parking lot. Come meet these amazing animals and learn some fun and interesting facts about reindeer! The event is free and open to the public.

Donuts with Santa: Hub 41 in Detroit Lakes will be hosting a special "Donuts with Santa" event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests are asked to bring a donation of nonperishable food items and/or cash for the Becker County Food Pantry. Lakes Area Community Concert Band: First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes will host a Christmas Concert by the Lakes Area Community Concert Band on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m. Free admission, but a free will offering will be taken. Christmas Concert: Detroit Lakes' United Methodist Church Adult Choir will host two performances of the Christmas concert, "Silent Was the Night," at 8:15 and 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16. Directed by Diane Jordan, the concert will feature percussionist Bill Mohn and accompanist Sharon Wesbrook. A Christmas tea will be served following both performances. Candles & Carols: Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes will host its 16th annual Candles & Carols Concert on Sunday, Dec. 16. Christmas Bake Sale: Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Frazee will be hosting a Christmas Bake Sale on Saturday, Dec. 15, 5-7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 16, 8-10 a.m. The sale will include homemade breads, caramel rolls, angel food cakes and many other goodies for your Christmas get-togethers, as well as hand crafted vintage Christmas stockings, pillows, aprons, sofa throws, baby/child quilts, and many other custom items. Proceeds from the sale will go toward children's religious education programs. Everyone is welcome.

Photos & Wishes with Santa: Jolly Ol' St. Nick himself will be at the Washington Square Mall in Detroit Lakes every Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 23, 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays and 12-4 p.m. on Sundays. Free popcorn and cider will be served, along with candy canes for the kids. Proceeds benefit the Mt. Tabor Masonic Lodge's Christmas project, which supports local families in need during the holidays.

Commemorative Ornament Painting: The Becker County Museum is offering local residents the opportunity to come in and paint a commemorative ornament to place on the museum's Christmas tree, every Tuesday through Saturday during the first two weeks of December, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. each day. BC Senior Meals: Meals for persons 60 and older are served several times each week at nutrition sites in Detroit Lakes, Lake Park, Osage and Wolf Lake or can be delivered directly to homes in these communities, Frazee and Callaway, via the Meals on Wheels program. Preschool screening: Preschool screening for 3-5 year olds for the Frazee-Vergas district is provided through Becker County Community Health Services. Minnesota law requires each child attend a health and developmental screening before kindergarten.

Senior Center Activities: The DL Senior Citizens Center has activities all month long. Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. is Pinochle; at 1 p.m. there will be 500 and other games. Whist is played on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. The third Wednesday of each month will be a celebration of birthdays for the month. Bingo for DL Hockey: The DL Youth Hockey organization holds Bingo every Sunday at Zorbaz in support of youth hockey in Detroit Lakes. All are welcome; Bingo starts at 6 p.m.
