Bicyclist dies after hitting car in Wadena
WADENA, Minn. - A bicyclist from Detroit Lakes was killed Thursday night after running into a car in Wadena, a release from the Minnesota State Patrol said.
The biker, 39, was northbound on Second Street and crossed Highway 10 against a red light, the release said. He ran into the side of a 2009 Chevy Silverado heading west at 11:15 p.m., State Patrol said.
The driver, Lyle William Bethel, 67, of Dent and passenger, Elaine Marie Tuma, 68, of Perham were not injured, the release said. The bicyclist’s name will be released Friday night pending family notification.
