Woman sentenced for meth, heroin
Candice Marie Bellanger, 45, of Naytahwaush, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
According to court records, on Aug. 7, 2017 she was in the back seat of a vehicle that was involved in a pursuit with White Earth police. The chase ended when two men in the vehicle jumped out of the car and fled into the woods, leaving her in the back seat. A microbaggy of meth was found in her purse along with a paper bindle containing a quarter-gram of heroin.
On June 26, Bellanger appeared before District Judge Gretchen Thilmony, who stayed adjudication and continued the case. She was ordered to serve 27 days in jail, with credit for 27 days served. She must pay $1,165 in court fees, get a chemical dependency evaluation, and follow the recommendations.
